Getting to Scandic Foresta

Public transportation (From Stockholm Central Station). Take the red metro line with end station Ropsten all the way to Ropsten. Exit in the front of the train, taking stairs or lift down to the ground floor.  To the right from the Metro platform you find bus stops, you can take all buses (Except number 203) and you only need to go one stop, to Torsvikstorg. When you get off the bus, go back a few meters until you come to Herserudsvägen going to your left. Follow Herserudsvägen for about 5 minutes and you will see Scandic Foresta.

Airport transportation. Stockholms largest airport is Stockholm Arlanda airport. The fastest way to travel between Arlanda and Stockholm city centre is to take the Arlanda Express trains. Tickets can either be bought on their website or on the platforms. An alternative to the train is the airport coaches, Flygbussarna. These tickets can also be bought on the company website or in wending machines and shops at the airport. If you are purchasing a travel card for public transportation you can add a passage supplement fee to your card for airport travel. In Stockholm you can travel on buses, trams and metro with one card. As a visitor to Stockholm the Single use travel cards are suitable, they are available as single journey tickets, for 24 hours and 72 hours. Stockholm is at its most beautiful in summer, however the weather can vary a lot. Make sure to bring clothing for both warm weather, rain and cooler evenings. Average temperature for Stockholm in July is 22° during the day and 13° during the night.

There are many taxi companies to choose from in Stockholm. Approved taxis with metered fares always bear yellow number plates. Taxi prices are not regulated in Sweden, check the price on the yellow-and-white label, which is usually on the rear door window, before entering the vehicle. Credit cards are readily accepted by all major taxi companies, some do not accept cash.

Swedish krona (SEK) is the official currency in Sweden. Some larger shops also accept Euros. Cash is not accepted in several shops and restaurants, make sure you bring a valid debit/credit card.

Please note that the venue, Scandic Foresta, is cash free.

The old town including the Royal Palace is one of the largest and best preserved medieval city centers in Europe. This is where Stockholm was founded in 1252.
